Mary Ratliff, MPA

24 years protecting children.

Mary Ratliff has led Protect Our Children since 2014. She is widely recognized as “the secret sauce” in the Initiative’s success, bringing a perfect blend of smarts, heart, and organizational prowess. Mary has over 20 years of experience in human services, focusing on child abuse prevention and intervention strategies and child advocacy. She has held a variety of supervisory, leadership, and development positions with local nonprofits. Mary has served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Oregon where she has taught research methods, policy, and community-based intervention courses.

Mary is active in community and has served on boards of directors for local rural nonprofits and Prevent Child Abuse Oregon. Currently, Mary is the Board Chair for the Oregon chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and is a member of the National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. Mary earned a master’s degree in public administration, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management, and a bachelor’s degree in family and human services – all from the University of Oregon.
