About our programs

Connect to Protect Kids is developing programs and resources to build connected, protective communities that safeguard children from sexual abuse and interpersonal violence. We educate and empower children, youth, and adults where they live, work, and play to change behaviors and social norms and to create safer environments.

Our comprehensive programs address child sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking, as well as peer, online, and other types of interpersonal violence and harm.

Program development uses an evidence-based process including rigorous research, prevention best-practices, professional knowledge, and cultural and community expertise informed by youth, those with lived experiences, and local community voices. Content is strengths-focused, theory-driven, and trauma-informed, as well as centered in equity, diversity, and cultural humility. 

Lessons for adults and youth are innovative and are provided using a combination of traditional, instructor-led trainings and online education and resources to facilitate learning while minimizing in-person training time required. Additional resources and support materials are provided in a flexible, easy to use toolkit. Materials use consistent messaging, and are accessible, adaptable, and inclusive to meet the needs of various stakeholders and communities while maintaining fidelity. Programs are easily scalable to support sustainable community prevention efforts.
