Tiffany Sawyer has led prevention and education services for the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy since 2006. In her role, Tiffany oversees the Center’s statewide abuse prevention initiative which has trained over 200,000 adults and youth in Georgia. Prior to this role, she was the Associate Director of Programs at Darkness to Light, a national non-profit for the prevention of child sexual abuse. While there, she assisted with the creation of the Stewards of Children training curriculum in 2004 and helped to launch the program on national and international levels.
Tiffany also serves on the National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. On the Coalition, she served as President in 2019 and co-authored the revision of the National Plan to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation in 2021. She now serves as co-chair of the National Plan Committee. She was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal in August 2014 to serve on the Georgia Child Fatality Review Panel as the Prevention Specialist. She has twice served as a Committee Chair for the Georgia Human Trafficking Taskforce led by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and previously by the Governor’s Office for Children and Families. She has also served as a core team member of the SAMHSA-MacArthur Foundation Policy Academy-Action Network Initiative: Improving Diversion Polices and Programs for Justice-Involved Youth with Behavioral Health Disorders.
Tiffany co-authored Georgia's Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation Prevention Technical Assistance Resource Guide for Schools and Youth-Serving Organizations in 2017 and 2023. She has developed numerous training programs on mandated reporting, abuse prevention, trauma informed care, adverse and protective childhood experiences, resiliency in children, human trafficking, and child protection policies. Additionally, she has conducted over 500 trainings and presentations both nationally and internationally throughout her career.
